Greetings fellowship:
Recently I was contacted past a doctoral student of folklore who is writing her dissertation surrounding a research report on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and recovery. Following a personal review of the material, which was anonymous and topically general in telescopic and scale, I participated in her questionnaire, which took less than x minutes to complete.
Having personally supervised and conducted research for several years while working in the field at Daytop/Swan Lake, and obtaining my CASAC-T, I tin can appreciate the demand for studies of this kind to permit treatment centers, governmental agencies, and laypersons to gain a meliorate understanding of Alcoholics Bearding and its benefits. If we as 'carriers of the message' don't stretch outside our comfort zone and share with the general public the benefits of AA, nosotros may miss fundamental opportunities to assistance the alcoholic who all the same suffers.
At that place are many 12-step based treatment programs that have lost funding and states that have reduced support for treatment centers, some of which being due to lack of principle understanding of our programs, and through price-cutting measures which rely on enquiry (or a lack thereof) to brand sound decisions and allocations.
Of course the responsibleness pledge refers to those specifically in need, tradition six (long form) does provide that "an AA grouping may cooperate with anyone…" and as such I am personally inviting anyone interested and willing to assist with this study to accept a few minutes and provide your input. (Click the link Beneath to the accept the survey).
As noted, information technology is completely confidential, even so, in that location is a voluntary opportunity to provide farther follow-up, if interested, which would crave being contacted.
Please proceed an open mind if you are interested. Have a pleasant day.
Sincerely,
Chris T.
My name is Caitlin Halligan and I am a doctoral educatee of folklore at Western Michigan University and the primary investigator, Dr. Jesse Smith, and I are conducting research on substance use recovery and Alcoholics Anonymous and hoped that your grouping might be able to help united states in this research. The research focuses on religious and nonreligious experiences in recovery, specifically as information technology relates to AA. Below is the participation flyer for the report. If you're willing, it would be really helpful if you lot could share it with your group, on social media, or fifty-fifty within your own personal network. Is this something yous'd be willing to practice? The survey is 100% bearding and approved past the university's institutional review board. I am hoping that the results of this study tin can help improve recovery for everyone.
Thank you for your consideration and please allow me know if you have further questions!
